US Bank Tower Climb

633 W FIFTH STREET LOS ANGELES, CA

Climbers enter the stairwell at 8 second intervals, finishing on the roof of the building. After taking a second stairwell down to the resting floor, climbers can enjoy incredible views, nearly 1,000 feet above Downtown Los Angeles, as well as free snacks and water to facilitate recovery. Climbers will then take a series of elevators back down to the street level where the Block Party awaits.

BUILDING DETAILS:

  • 75 floors
  • 1,664 steps with an average height of 7.25 inches
  • Railings on both sides, and enough space for 2-3 people side-by-side at all times
  • The amount of steps per floor and the direction of the turns vary

PROHIBITED ITEMS:

Cell phones and headphones are permitted in the stairwell. However, in order to maintain a safe course, large cameras, back packs, and fanny packs are prohibited. Please plan accordingly and leave these items with a friend or at our bag check while participating in the Stair Climb for Los Angeles.

Two Special Competition Categories at the US Bank Tower:

If you are among the fastest of all climbers, you may apply to compete in the highly sought-after Elite category.  During the Elite start at 11:15am, climbers are spaced farther apart to allow for a relatively clear course and some truly amazing times! This category is intended for the top 30 male, and top 30 female competitors. It will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis with individuals who meet one of the 3 qualification types below.

Qualification Type 1: Stair Climb for Los Angeles finishing time of less than 16:30(female)/14:00(male)

Qualification Type 2: Top 5 finisher in age/gender category in a climb of 50+ stories within the past 5 years. This includes Stair Climb for Los Angeles.

Qualification Type 3: Top 40 finisher overall in a climb of 50+ stories within the past 5 years. This includes Stair Climb for Los Angeles.

If you plan on participating regardless of whether you are accepted into the Elite category, go ahead and register as an individual today, and we will switch your participation type to Elite upon approval. *Note: it is not possible to be on a team as an Elite climber. Elites are also not eligible for placement medals in general categories such as individual age/gender divisions.

We invite firefighters and law enforcement to take on the challenge of climbing all 75 floors in full uniform. The Hero's Challenge takes place at 11:30am. Participants will be asked for a Badge # or ID # at the time of registration, and the required donation is discounted to $50.
