Start Times
See below for an approximate schedule, based on participation type. On September 20, 2024 (one week before the event), your start time will be emailed to you and an exact start time search link will be added to this page. Your start time is also printed on your bib, which can be picked up on the day before the event at the Ketchum-Downtown YMCA. Start times will not be released prior to September 20, 2024 and cannot be changed once posted.
Participants are assigned in 15 minute waves and will be allowed to line up 15 minutes prior to their official start time. Please plan to arrive 30-45 min before your climb/hike to allow time for parking and finding the start line. Climbers are released into the stairwells in 8-second intervals. Team Start Times: All members of a team will be assigned to the same wave, even if there is a mix of Climbers & Hikers.
Urban Hike participants may enter the trailhead any time between 1:00PM-5:00PM. If you are a Hiker on a team with Stair Climbers, we encourage you to begin your hike at the same time as your teammates begin their climb.

Packet Pick-Up
Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 10:30-2:30pm

We encourage all pre-registered participants to pick up their event packet at the YMCA the day before the climb: Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 10:30am-2:30pm at 401 S Hope Street. We can provide $2 validated parking at our Welcome Center for 2 hours or less. If you are part of a team or group, you can have one or more people pick up packets for all of your team members - no confirmation emails or IDs are needed.
Picking up your packet early will allow you to bypass Event HQ on the day of the climb and proceed directly to your start line. For those who choose to pick up their packet on the day of the climb, pick-up tables operate from 10:30am-4:30pm on Friday, September 27.

Course Details
U.S. Bank Tower Climb
633 W Fifth Street - Los Angeles, CA
Climbers enter the stairwell at 8 second intervals, finishing on the roof of the building. After taking a second stairwell down to the resting floor, climbers can enjoy incredible views, nearly 1,000 feet above Downtown Los Angeles, as well as free snacks and water to facilitate recovery. Climbers will then take a series of elevators back down to the street level where the Block Party awaits.

Urban Hike
633 W Fifth Street - Los Angeles, CA
The Urban Hike has a 1.3 mile route option, or for more of a challenge hikers can choose the 3.1 mile hike. Both routes begin just outside the second floor of the U.S. Bank Tower and take you past DTLA icons including MOCA, The Broad, Disney Concert Hall, and The Grand LA before finishing back at the LA Central Library where you can join all participants at Maguire Gardens for a Block Party. Please note that the Urban Hike is an untimed event.

Head to your local hiking trail, stairs, or bleachers! All you need is a smart device to track your 75 floors. We encourage you to time yourself and submit your results! Feel free to add your own creative spin. Don't want to go outdoors? You can do step ups in your own home! Whatever you choose to do, you are doing it for a great cause!

Westlawn Parking Garage

$15 All Day for Stair Climb participants, volunteers, and spectators. After parking, use the 5th Street crosswalk to get to the US Bank Tower.
City National Plaza Garage
400 S. Flower Street (located directly below the YMCA)
$2 for up to 3 hours with YMCA validation (normal rates thereafter). After parking, take the parking structure elevator to the 11th floor, walk out of the car entry/exit, and turn right to take the stairs down to the US Bank Tower. PLEASE NOTE: while it is less expensive, this parking structure is NOT as convenient for this year's event, and you will need to allow extra time to visit the YMCA Welcome Center on the roof of the parking structure in order to use the validation machine and receive the validated rate.
Medals & Awards
All climbers will receive a finisher’s medal from YMCA volunteers upon reaching the finish line.

Race Results
CLICK HERE to look up your results on event day. If you have won 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in any team or individual category, you will be contacted by YMCA staff in the weeks following the Stair Climb to arrange for shipping or picking up your medal.
